This text was originally posted as a reply to posts from Feb. No one appears to be paying any attention to unread posts so I'll have to start a new thread to see if I get any response. I have an issue with Atheros AR5007 wireless lancard drivers. My laptop is 2 months old: Compaq CQ60-210US with built it wireless.

  1. Jul 02, 2009  When i enable my wireless network adapter (the Atheros AR5007EG) windows 7 turns into the -in my case- long time no see BSOD! When i want want to download through http, when i use a torrent file, or through ftp there is no problem whatsoever. Hopefully this will get solved asap, as it is a smug on windows 7 (overall opinion: very good.
  2. Atheros AR5007EG Wireless Network Adapter Driver for FUJITSU - AMILO Li 2727 working on Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate.

Came with Vista Premium. Everything worked. I upgraded it with 32bit Win 7.

Dec 02, 2018  Atheros Wirelesss driver for Win7 from HP here (ver 8.0.0.172) When this driver will not solve Your problem try moded one: Atheros Wireless here (ver 8.0.0.225) If even this will not work then tell me one thing. Have You got any stgrange colorors on wireless or mute button.

Most things worked. The Wireless light would stay yellow indicating there was NOT a wireless connection, but I could connect using IE. When connected, the light turns blue. There are posts on this site saying to download the XP, not the Vista drivers from HP and install those to fix the light issue. The wireless card is Atheros AR5007EG. When I go to the HP website for this model, there are Vista wireless drivers listed but none for XP. The original driver used was a Microsoft driver.

It worked other than the light issue. The HP site lists the drivers as Broadcom Wireless LAN drivers for Vista. I downloaded these and tried to install them. Nothing ever happened. This is a single.exe file. When I tried to install and double clicked, it just goes off into space. Never comes back and says the drivers are installed.

Dead rising 3 download pc. It has an aggregate score of 79.37% on GameRankings and 78/100 on Metacritic.

Now the networking is down and I can't get it back up. Went to uninstall programs in Control Panel and tried to uninstall everything dealing with wireless. When the system reboots it reinstalls the 'latest' drivers, but still doesn't work. Tried to install using the compatibility options listed in the post I found on this site. Never installs. Tried to install by updating the driver and manually pointing the update to the Vista driver.inf file. HP Wireless Assistant asks what wireless router I'm using Netopia 3347 and tells me that router is not supported.

Went to Device Manager and uninstalled all network adapters. On reboot, installs the latest drivers and will not connect to my wireless router. The HP site appears not to contain any Atheros drivers, only Broadcom. When I try to find my network, I get my neighbors listed but nothing that is my network. I don't broadcast the ssid. I updated the auto connect list with my network name.

Can't find it. Oddly enough, I just had a flash while writing this.

The wireless light on the laptop is actually a switch. You can turn the wireless off on an airplane by just pressing the light button. I never considered it might be in an off position because it always shows yellow.

Ar5007eg

I pushed it and the HP Assistant came up and said the wireless was on. I can now connect to the net. But the light issue still remains, which was the original problem. Its still yellow when the network is active, and should be blue. I went back to one of the posts and downloaded Atheros AR5007EG drives for XP from the listed site in CZ.

Installed those. Same issue, the light is still yellow, not blue, but I can at least connect to the wireless router. Oddly, the installed drivers are listed in device manager as AR5006. I'm still asking for any insight into the whole broadcom/Atheros which driver to use to get this to work right issue. It would appear everyone else fixed it in Feb except me. Any help is greatly appreciated. Here we are in mid April and the final product will be released in Aug supposedly.

Wireless is one of the most used features of laptops next to printing, and my guess is there are a lot of laptops out there. Somebody better get to writing code pronto. As I read in one of the posts, if Microsoft dares release an OS without wireless drivers, there will be to pay.Hi Microsoft has built the extensibilty and support for the latest wireless technology into Windows 7, the manufacturers of those devices must write the drivers. Hope this helps. Thank You for testing Windows 7 BetaRonnie Vernon MVP. Here we are in mid April and the final product will be released in Aug supposedly. I put Windows Vista Business on one drive yesterday and was having trouble with my wireless. Same issue, I had a choice of either Intel or Broadcom and neither worked.

After installing the HP Update driver and a couple of reboots, it downloaded and installed SP37903A.exe and my wireless was working. I copied the SP37903A folder out of the C:swsetup folder onto a flash drive, changed my hdd to my Windows 7 hdd, ran the installer, but it wouldn't finish, said I was using the latest driver already. Went into the 'Network and Sharing Center', picked on 'Change adapter settings', right mouse clicked on my Wireless Adapter, went to Properties and tried to update the driver but when I closed the Properties window, my adapter disappeared. I reran the SP37903A setup using Vista compatible mode, it removed the first install, then I reran it again and now my wireless light is working like it's suppose to. I tried searching on HP's website for that driver but was unsuccessful. If you would like it, send me a PM with your email addy and I will send you a link from where you can download it. Hope this helps.

Update: I installed the SP37903A on my 64 bit install, selected the Vista Compatibility mode before the first run, it installed and the indicator turned blue as soon as the install was done running. Just noticed there's no PM so here's the link: RL Gartin. I have also a majore problem with this network adapter (or its drivers.)
