How To Make Screenshots Into Pdf
I would like to create sharp screenshots in PDF format, but whenever I use Grab (Version 1.3(90)) for my screenshots the images turn out to be somewhat fuzzy. The shots that I want to take are of the whole screen, with the browser Safari open, showing webpages with significant detail. I use Grab, and then convert to PDF. I import those files into Latex using TexShop. The images turn out to be fuzzy. If projected on a large screen, I can't read the text in the webpage. It is as if someone with a trembling hand had held a camera at the screen.
Is there any way of creating sharp screenshots in PDF? Many thanks for any help. Hi tilmat, first of all: WELCOME TO THE DISCUSSIONS!The sharpness of screenshots is limited by the resolution of the screen. A normal CRT-display has a resolution of 72 dpi which is less than half the resolution of 150 dpi you would use for low quality print-outs. So, unless you make the screenshot smaller by a factor of at least 2 it will always be a little blurry. You can change the format of the screenshots with utilities such as.If this answered your question please consider granting some stars.
Thank you for the response. I use Grab, which produces a Tiff file.
I then open this in Preview, and save the image as a PDF file. The sharpness seems to go lost when I save as PDF.The reason why I convert to PDF is that I want to import the graphics file into a Latex based presentation. I use TeXShop for Latex. Latex restricts which graphics formats it recognizes. Latex doesn't seem to recognize jpg.By the way: When I choose in Preview the file format in which I want to save it offers as my options JPEG, and JPEG-2000, it does not offer jpg. Do you know why?Is there any way of changing the default file format of Grab to PDF, or indeed any other format rather than TIFF? Even if I view the screenshot on exactlythe same screen on which I took it (I am using anexternal Apple Cinema Screen with my PowerBook) itlooks blurry; much more blurry than it lookedoriginally on the screen.
How to Combine Multiple Images into a PDF File on Android Lori Kaufman @howtogeek Updated July 11, 2017, 10:21pm EDT You’ve taken pictures of a paper document using your Android phone, and now you need to send it to someone. Is there any way ofobtaining a screenshot that is as sharp as theoriginal image? If you take a snap of the entire screen the picture will look slightly blurred when viewing because the picture you are viewing is reduced to fit in a window and does not use the entire screen, so the dots in the picture don't match the pixels on the screen. The image file has exactly the detail of the original screen but you are not seeing it. Is there something I can do to see the image file in the same detail as the original? My plan is to use some screenshots in a public lecture, and the quality of the image files that I have at the moment is just unacceptable for a large public presentation.
I have archived the webpages in Safari, and the image that I get when I open the archived pages is of much higher quality than the screenshot. I am a little worried, however, about switching between applications in a public event with a large audience. It disrupts the presentation. Moreover, I have experienced a random problem in opening an archived page in Safari, which I haven't understood yet.
This is why I would prefer a high quality screen shot. Thank you for your answer. My problem is resolved. Firstly, by some miracle, the default file format in which Grab produced images, switched from Tiff to pdf on my computer. Then, when I used 'actual size' in Preview, I did indeed obtain an image that was just as sharp as the original. I still have to work on the question why, if I import this file into Latex, I don't obtain an image of the same quality as the pdf file, but I understand that this is not the right forum for this question.

This can be illustrated well with text documents: For example, if a text document created with Word is saved as a doc file and opened on another PC with other software, the document may not be displayed in the correct font or the line breaks may be lost as originally thought to be displayed. Such conversion problems can be bypassed by saving the text document as a PDF file. The document is then always true to the original.
